Winemaker's Tasting Notes
We made this for the first time and did not repeat it in 2009 but I assure you we will in 2011. Fermented in 500 liter puncheon barrels, this wine is a great Sav. Blanc. It exceeds our expectations and we are proud to offer you something unexpected. From the mouth feel to the finish a, great bargain of a great wine. Like all Sav blanc grass but very muted on the noise, with lemon zest and goose berry in the for front. Minerals wet stone a floral aspects give way to an incredible refreshing finish. This is a great white wine and were proud of our first release.Robert Parker Jr's Tasting Notes: 92 Points
The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc White Hills Vineyard is a classic Sauvignon with more stoniness and minerality than most California examples. Crisp honeydew melon, lemon grass, and fig notes emerge from this medium-bodied, impressively concentrated white. It should continue to drink well for another 2-3 years.
